Choosing the right business management software can be tricky. You want to balance efficiency and ease-of-use while still having comprehensive data and a full set of features. Sage ERP X3 is a time-tested enterprise resource planning (ERP) option designed to keep pace with a dynamic and increasingly global economy, where employees require up-to-the-minute information anywhere they are.

About Sage ERP X3 Distribution Software

Sage ERP X3 is an integrated software suite now in its 7th update. Sage ERP X3 allows global distributors to track and allocate inventory, keeping ahead of customer needs with ongoing, end-to-end awareness of product availability.

For example, your business ships manufactured goods both nationally and internationally. Upon receiving an order, you promise customers to have that order delivered within a certain time frame. To do this with any sort of accuracy, you need to know how much inventory you have in stock, how long you have until you make an order or receive a delivery to replenish your inventory, and how long it generally takes to ship your goods to a specific customer location.

Basically, you need to know where your inventory is at all times, or you don’t have the necessary knowledge to provide good customer service. You know your production parameters, your supply chain hierarchy, and your metrics; by customizing Sage ERP X3, you can receive a transparent end-to-end view of your distribution patterns, from order to fulfillment, allowing sales to proceed smoothly and with confidence.

Sage ERP X3 Comes to the Cloud

This month marks a new phase for industry favorite Sage ERP X3, with the X3 rollout in North America. Cloud software is software hosted not by you and not in a finite number of locations, but rather a “place” that can hold unlimited amounts of data that can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection, on a variety of devices. This has many advantages, including lower IT costs and more mobility for your business.

While Sage ERP X3’s cloud option will start in the United States in September 2014, it is not currently available in the United Kingdom, Europe, Africa, or anywhere else that Sage offers services. Sage has indicated, however, that other countries are not far behind.
